What this is

A single vial containing both BPC-157 and thymosin β4 (TB-500) in a fixed ratio, lyophilised together. The two compounds appear together frequently enough in tissue repair research that a combined preparation removes a step: one reconstitution, one vial, a ratio that does not depend on pipetting.

Neither compound is altered by being blended. BPC-157 remains the 15-residue gastric-juice-derived sequence; thymosin β4 remains the 43-residue actin-sequestering peptide. What changes is the format.

Why these two together

The two compounds are studied against overlapping endpoints from non-overlapping mechanisms, which is the usual justification for pairing them.

Thymosin β4 acts on actin monomer availability and therefore on cell migration — the mechanical prerequisite for a cell population moving into a wound bed.

BPC-157 is studied for effects on angiogenesis and growth factor receptor expression, with a recurring nitric oxide pathway theme — the vascular and signalling side of the same process.

Whether the combination produces more than the sum of its parts is an open research question rather than an established finding, and it is worth stating that plainly: the pairing is common in the literature because the mechanisms are complementary in principle, not because synergy has been demonstrated.

Analytical notes

A blend needs a certificate per component, not per vial. Each compound is analysed as its own material — its own HPLC purity figure, its own mass spectrometry identity confirmation — before the two are combined. The batch certificate reports both.

Be suspicious of blend certificates that quote a single purity percentage. A chromatogram of a two-component blend has two main peaks. "99.3%" cannot describe both of them, and the number is either describing one component while ignoring the other, or it was never derived from a chromatogram at all. See spotting a fabricated COA.

The second question a blend certificate should answer is the ratio, since the stated masses are what determine the concentration of each component after reconstitution.

Handling and storage

Store sealed at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. Bring to room temperature before opening, reconstitute by running diluent down the vial wall, and swirl rather than shake. Store solution at 2–8 °C, protected from light.

Note that reconstituting a blend gives you two concentrations from one volume: each component's concentration is its own mass divided by the diluent volume. The reconstitution calculator handles each component separately — run it twice.

How is a blend analysed differently from a single compound?
Each component is analysed as its own material before blending, and each gets its own purity figure and mass confirmation. A blend certificate reporting a single combined purity percentage is not meaningful — two components produce two main peaks, and a single number cannot describe both.
Why buy a blend rather than two vials?
One reconstitution instead of two, and a fixed ratio that does not depend on pipetting accuracy at the bench. The trade-off is that the ratio is set at the point of filling and cannot be varied afterwards, so separate vials remain the better choice for any work where the ratio is a variable.
